Back In The Game :)

Stopped playing golf for years Golf Drivers Blog, and had absolutely no interest to return until Golf For Sale, wait for it Golf News Site, Tiger Woods made the news for all his indiscretions:) It got me thinking about golf again :)My brother was SO stoked that I was interested in golf again that he bought me a whole new set for my birthday my previous set was all Callaway, now its almost all TaylorMade SuperTri, R9 irons and TM Bag, YAY!I say almost because I still have my really really dead Ping Anser 2 that used to be my dads, and my wedges are CG15s.Now all I need is a new putter, any suggestions?I'm kinda liking this one:I have someone coming in from the US in a few months so I'll get them to bring a one over, but in the meantime, I'm looking for a cheapy Ping blade putter from Ebay:)So now I'm looking to fill up the bag with 1-2 hybrids and a fairway wood, preferably a 15deg.Any suggestions ?Can't wait to get back on a course now..

I'll Show You My Trajectory if You Show Me ....

Alright Golf Clubs, all you club fitters and those aspiring out there Golf Sale, here's one that perplexes me no end. Hopefully someone can provide an answer.I have a three (metal) wood with a loft of 14° and a two iron with a (steeper) loft of 18°.Why is it that my two iron shots never achieve anywhere near the elevation that my three woods do?I'm sure the explanation exists but Golf Clubs Today, at present, it is not obvious to me. May be I should have paid more attention in physics classes.By way of offering more information, I can also say that, though I don't think it is relative (maybe it is) the three wood, at 43.5 inches long is 4 inches (100 mm) longer than the two iron. This longer shaft length will clearly translate, at the same swing speed, to a faster club head speed at impact than that of the iron. This probably accounts for the longer carry achieved with the wood.In anticipation, thanks..

Entry level Irons

So Free Discount Golf, I used to play golf when I was a young lad Free Golf Sale, but what started off as Oh Used Golf, we'll have a hit while we're in Nelson Bay it'll be fun has turned into a new hobby. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I do.Anyway, on the second game I bought a crappy old set of clubs from Cash Converters (for $19 or so) and I'm in the process of upgrading them. So far I've got a driver I like, a putter, a hybrid 3 iron and some fairway woods on order, and I'm now looking at iron sets. The question is, I've got a budget of around $200 or so for a set, is it worth upgrading to some entry level Irons? I guess I could stick with my ancient ones (they're Barons', and the only google match was for vintage clubs) until I can afford something a bit better, but I'd really prefer to get something now while I'm keen. There seem to be some good deals on a Wilson 1200 Iron set (going for $200), or a Ram Demon R4 ($150), but I couldn't find any reviews on the latter. The former is poorly reviewed here, but gets pretty decent feedback on some other sites, what do people think? My game at the moment is pretty awful, I hit between a 115 and 135 I'm not expecting to suddenly hit under 100 with some new clubs, but will upgrading make it easier? You see in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig. The Man with no name
